The B&MK Waterway Consortium

Click here to link to the Consortium websiteThe Consortium, formed in May 2010, supports to take the Waterway forward. into the next stages of planning and design. The member organisations are:

The three local authorities through which the route passes: Bedford Borough Council, Central Bedfordshire Council and Milton Keynes Council.

The two navigation bodies involved: The Environment Agency and the Canal & River Trust (formerly British Waterways).

The two local charities, which take care of green and blue spaces in the region: The Parks Trust and the Marston Vale Trust.

… and of course ourselves, the B&MK Waterway Trust, as the community-based campaigning body which maintains the vision of the waterway and looks to invigorate relationships with all our stakeholders and partners in the community.

The Consortium meets twice a year in the spring and autumn to provide member organisation level governance, oversight and co-ordination of activity.  The Chair rotates between the three local authorities along the route.

Joint Delivery Board, comprising various members of the Consortium reporting into the Consortium, provide the day-to-day working.
