Have your say in Central Bedfordshire Local Plan supporting the Waterway Park

Central Bedfordshire is currently consulting on its Local Plan. There are two policies in the proposed Local Plan which are critical to the Waterway: policy SA2 which proposes the development of a series of new villages in the Marston Vale, built around the Waterway Park, and policy EE10 which focuses on the Waterway Park itself

The Local Plan can be found at

Policy SA2 is on page 60 and policy EE10 is on page 200. The Trust has submitted comments which support these policies. The Trust response can be viewed at here.  The more support the Council receives the more likely that the policies will remain in the Local Plan when it is approved. This will help ensure that the section of the Waterway Park between Brogborough and Stewartby Lakes is built.

The issue of creating new villages is a sensitive one but without new development the Waterway Park won’t be built. As a Member and supporter of the B&MK Waterway, we do hope that you will feel able to support these policies. We encourage you to support us, by submit a response in writing to;-
