The three local authorities through which the route passes: Bedford Borough Council, Central Bedfordshire Council and Milton Keynes Council.

The two navigation bodies involved: The Environment Agency and the Canal & River Trust (formerly British Waterways).

The two local charities, which take care of green and blue spaces in the region: The Parks Trust and the Marston Vale Trust.

… and of course ourselves, the B&MK Waterway Trust, as the community-based campaigning body which maintains the vision of the waterway and looks to invigorate relationships with all our stakeholders and partners in the community.

South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP), representing the regional perspective and drawing on regional government connections, see this as a major regeneration and economic development opportunity for Marston Vale they have now joined the Consortium

The Consortium meets twice a year, usually in May/June and November/December, to provide member organisation level governance, oversight and co-ordination of activity.  The Mayor of Bedford, Dave Hodgson, is the Chairman, with Paul Vann of Bedford Borough Council as Secretary.

Joint Delivery Board, comprising various members of the Consortium reporting into the Consortium, provide the day-to-day working.
